Foundation paints have the role of firmly retaining the paint that gets wet on top of the base material. Recently, it has become common to use commercially available canvas that has already been ground-painted, so it is also used for adjustment. Foundations adjust the absorption of oil into the canvas and change the color by changing the ground color. Generally, white foundations are used, but colored foundations may be used for more effective coloring.
