[Product introduction]
TAMIYA 1/48 McDonnell Douglas F-4B Phantom II. The F-4 Phantom II is a masterpiece jet fighter that was adopted by the U.S. Navy and Air Force and also operated in countries around the world. Among them, the first mass-produced naval type F-4B will be added to the series. Based on thorough research, we have accurately reproduced the exquisite outline and cross-sectional shape of the actual machine. The canopy can be opened or closed, and the outer wings can be assembled in either folded or unfolded states. The horizontal stabilizer moves in conjunction with the left and right sides. Missiles and drop tanks are also available. Set includes 2 pilot figures and 3 types of markings for MIG killers who participated in the Vietnam War.
[A monumental jet fighter created by the United States]
The F-4 Phantom II began deployment in the early 1960s and more than 5,000 were produced. It is said to be the most successful jet fighter, as it is a multi-purpose aircraft that boasts a long range and excellent payload, and was operated not only by the U.S. Navy and Air Force, but also in countries around the world. In 1952, the U.S. Navy presented design requirements for a supersonic fighter to aircraft manufacturers. In this development competition, McDonnell handed over the adoption to Vought's F-8 Crusader, but continued development thereafter. Create a two-seat fleet air defense fighter with all-weather performance and equipped with two powerful engines. This fighter plane, which was not equipped with a machine gun and was equipped with four air-to-air missiles, AIM-7 Sparrow and AIM-9 Sidewinder, was designated as the F4H-1 (later renamed F-4A) in December 1958. I was hired. Production of the first full-scale mass-produced F-4B began in 1961, and deployment to VF-74 (74th Fighter Squadron) began in July of the same year. - In the Vietnam War that broke out in the Indochina Peninsula, the F-4B was introduced as a new aircraft about half a year after the United States entered the war. Although it shot down the North Vietnamese Air Force's MiG-17 for the first time in 1965, most of the US Navy's kills in the first half of the war were by F-8 Crusaders. However, after Operation Linebacker in 1972, the training of the crew improved and the number of engagements with enemy aircraft increased. In addition to recording a large number of shootdowns, it also began to demonstrate its power in ground attacks by taking advantage of its excellent carrying capacity. After that, a number of improved and advanced versions of the F-4 were developed, including the E-type for the Air Force, which had a machine gun under the nose, and established itself as a multi-purpose attack aircraft. In some operating countries, it continues to fly today, more than half a century after its first flight. This is a plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the naval F-4B Phantom II, the first full-scale mass-produced model in the F-4 Phantom II series. 1/48 scale, total length 370mm, total width 244mm. Based on thorough research, we have accurately modeled the exquisite outline and cross-sectional shape of the actual machine. Reliable assembly was achieved by dividing the parts. The J79-GE-8 engine nozzle, cockpit, landing gear storage, and even the details of the aircraft are precisely reproduced. The outer wings can be assembled in either folded or unfolded state. The integrally molded horizontal stabilizer moves in conjunction with the left and right sides. The canopy can be opened or closed, and the refueling probe on the right side of the nose and the boarding ladder on the left side can be stowed or deployed. Different parts are available for the antenna and cockpit console depending on the marking specifications. Air-to-air missiles AIM-7E Sparrow and AIM-9G/H Sidewinder, and two types of drop tanks are also included. Includes 2 pilot figures in a seated position, 3 types of markings for MIG killers who were active in the Vietnam Air War, and mask stickers for painting the canopy. VF-51 “Screaming Eagles” wing commander aircraft. Pay attention to the elegant and dynamic style, which has been accurately modeled based on thorough research. VF-111 “Sundowners” squadron leader aircraft. The main outer wing can also be assembled in a folded state. VF-161 “Chargers” wing commander aircraft. *Uses the 1/48 F-4 Phantom II US Navy access door decal set, sold separately. The main outer wing in the folded state. Details of the wing cross section, including the hinge, are faithfully expressed. The left and right tail wings are molded as one piece so that they can be assembled at the correct angle. The polycap allows it to move like the real machine. The canopy uses a slide mold to reproduce the Ω-shaped cross-sectional shape. The intricate molding around the air intake is also worth seeing. The canopy can be assembled open or closed, and the boarding ladder on the left side of the nose can be retracted or deployed. A set of figures of a pilot (left) in a seated position and a radar interception officer (right). Martin Baker Mk.7 ejection seat is also realistically made into parts. The refueling probe on the right side of the cockpit can be deployed or retracted. Both the front seat for the pilot and the rear seat equipped with various radars are finished just like the actual aircraft. Console selects parts based on marking specifications. The cock pod on the bottom of the nose radome is available in standard type and parts with APR-30 antenna sensor. The weapon is a set of four air-to-air missiles, AIM-7E Sparrow and AIM-9G/H Sidewinder. You can reproduce the fully equipped state. The speed brake on the underside of the main wing can be opened or closed, and the flaperon can be raised or lowered. In addition to a 600-gallon center drop tank, there are also two 370-gallon drop tanks mounted under the wings. The nose gear hangar has an eye-catching detailed detail. The long rear part serves as a support, allowing it to be firmly attached to the torso. A main spar part that prevents wing deformation and ensures reliable assembly of the main landing gear. A part of the engine that can be seen from the auxiliary air intake door on the bottom of the fuselage is also molded. The J79-GE engine, which achieves high maneuverability and long cruising range, is realistically reproduced down to the details inside the nozzle. The engine nozzle is divided into 6 parts to express a three-dimensional mechanical shape. Delicate and sharp molding such as panel lines and rivets that create a sense of high scale are also highlights. Comes with 3 types of markings for MIG killers that were active in the Vietnam Air War. In addition to nationality marks, graphics, and slide marks for precautions on each part of the aircraft, a mask sticker for painting the canopy is also included. A full-color painted drawing that is the same size as the model. Color separation lines and markings can be accurately positioned.
