Product introduction The Type 0 surface observation aircraft (official name: Type 0 observation aircraft) was developed to replace the carrier-based surface reconnaissance aircraft that previously conducted reconnaissance and observation of impact. What was required was to improve climbing performance, fighting performance, and speed performance. The Type 0 observation aircraft, which was adopted as a standard over two companies famous for seaplanes, Aichi and Kawanishi, had a streamlined and sophisticated appearance, and although it was a biplane, it had a design that did not feel old. Its operational mission was multi-purpose, and it was used for various purposes such as patrolling, reconnaissance, escorting convoys, interception by demonstrating its excellent combat performance, and attacking ships with small bombs.
